I don’t know the Cherokee language or much about their history but I do know their motto:

I don’t remember much about what was going down here in the “cottage” before I went to the hospital a year and a half ago but I do remember that it was very big about the native American and that they had heard me as a little girl in the woods behind me in New Jersey and that I loved talking to the birds because that was all I had. It was my impression that they were helping me, they heard my cry all the way from Out West, they had seen me as a young girl–what else do you do on a reservation but look out at this crazy world and wonder what is happening?
And up at the stars and what is happening out there.
So, at the hospital I met a woman who looked like a Cherokee.
She said to me “Die Bravely, Die well.”
Hmmm…
