Let me mention a psychologist who was key in dragging me out of that mess some 15 to 20 years later: both the mess that was there in the first place, starting with the BAD psychologist NJ and the secondary and widespreading mess that was generated by my stay at Hopkins after I had had a baby, 10 years later.
He sat with me patiently while I talked out my life for 6 years. My son had been seen there by a child therapist a few years before and I felt very worried about compromising that excellent relationship. But I sat it out and ultimately it propelled me back here to PA where my son and I needed to be. Ian spent about as much time here, during his childhood, as he did in Florida. But he wouldn’t have lasted long in Florida. He had fallen in with a bad crowd.
The Dr.’s name is Gerard Boutin and I do want to make a point of naming him because there were all kinds of rumors circulating about me and my psychotherapists and psychiatrists that were completely untrue. Generally I had a crush on them, that was least so with Dr. Boutin. I just depended upon him for my life and that of my family members.
Dr. Boutin, God bless you and keep you wherever you are. I will not be returning to Florida.
