I have been thinking this out and I saw that it came down to the thermometer. A house without a thermometer is not a safe house for a child. And I puzzled that out for a while and didn’t know how to figure it. Because Ian and I got along without one. I could only use the old-fashioned glass kind and they were hard to come by. I could never get the new ones to work. So, no thermometer, no Mom. Where was the Mom? Ian and I made up our own rules. We were a distressed family for so many reasons. I knew when he was sick and and he went to the doctor.
It was on the mom. I couldn’t be the Mom the way this poor child needed me to.
