“Injuns”

I do so deeply apologize for the use of this term from the 60’s for Native Americans, in my last post, and for other slights in this regard.

I did correct it, but the post had already gone out.

I had kept using it as “Injuns for their injury,” not realizing that it was offensive as were a number of other things I put out there about Americsn natives based on my childhood reading of the Laura Ingalls Wilder series and my New Jersey public grade school education about the local native nation. I lived just off a long, winding old native trail, and I loved that.

But, I did not understand the reality today in this regard at all and I was out of line in stepping into this issue as I did ehen I was seeking help myself.
